Acid Varsity is very pleased to announce our inaugural event at our new home, Ken Club, featuring your trusted residents alongside some of our favorite hardware based electronic music performers from San Diego and LA. This month, we will be featuring the following artists:
Force Placement (Black Lodge, 100% Silk)
Force Placement has been an instrumental player in LA’s hardware techno scene for over a decade as a resident of LA’s Black Lodge event series, and we are thrilled to be hosting him for a special hour long vinyl performance. With releases on Black Lodge’s label and 100% Silk, his productions are frequently featured in our residents sets, and we can’t wait to hear what he has in store for us.
Moment Trigger (Fatt-Grabbers, Fantasy 1, United Selectors Network)
Moment Trigger return to Acid Varsity for another blistering hardware set of harsh industrial and noise influenced modular techno. Hot on the heels of their latest tape for United Selectors Network: “TRASHFIRE”, and their own imprint Fattgrabbers: “MANIACJR”. Moment Trigger’s return to San Diego is not to be missed.
Perpetrator
Formerly one half of Osk Blatvk, Perpetrator’s work will be familiar to Acid Varsity regulars. With a unique, precise, and punishing approach to modular synthesis, Perpetrator can always be depended on to disturb your mind and move your body.
Phaedrider
Opening up the proceedings, AV mainstay Phaedrider’s performances are always a treat. His psychedelic and groove oriented sets proudly showcase a rooting in the punk and electronic underground, bringing to mind artists like Suicide or Spacemen 3 filtered through a vintage hardware based setup including his synced Juno and TR-707.
